    The following paragraph includes an error:

    ‘“We are trying to remain competitive with peer and aspirational universities, many of which have a 4:4 model,” Cook said, pointing out that Rice University and Southwestern University still function on a 5:5, but this is because they have access to more research funding.’

    Southwestern recently switched from a 5:5 to a 4:4 and they have MUCH less research funding than Trinity. They also have an endowment that is 1/4th that of Trinity. The statements in the paragraph are true for Rice, but Southwestern should be removed to be factually correct. It is also worth noting that Rice doesn’t really belong in this conversation because they are a very different University with large numbers of grad students.

      Thank you for the correction. The paragraph in question was changed prior to print publication, but an older version of the article must have been submitted for upload to the website. The article above has been changed to the version found in the print edition.
