Blurred Lines blends photography with a host of other media and gives four local San Antonio-based photographers the chance to showcase their art. This 2015 Fotoseptiembre USA exhibition allows each artist to show their way of bringing photography to life through drawing, illustration, installation, sculpture and video. The show examines the photography medium and allows these four artists “to break out of the traditional 2D format and to blur the lines between traditional photography and new media.”

Musician River Jones is the driving force behind the ATX original Alta Violet. Named after his grandmother and influenced by Elliot Smith and The Beatles, Alta Violet has made a name for itself in Austin and brings its low-key rock to San Antonio’s alternative music hub, Paper Tiger. Known as a prolific writer with songs that draw on personal history, Jones has described songwriting as a way to approach and discuss important moments, people and phases of his life and move past them. Doors for this all-ages show open at 9 p.m. with tickets only available first-come-first-served at the door.

The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged!)

This hilarious 97 minute play does what some may think impossible: it covers every single play written by Shakespeare in one sitting. Performed by three exuberant performers, “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged!)” ran for 9 years and set the record for longest-running comedy in London. This fast-paced performance will be a fun and playful 97 minutes, and after the show, you can wander around the rest of the Renaissance on the River event.

Recycled, Repurposed, Reborn: Collage and Assemblage

“Recycle, Repurposed, Reborn: Collage and Assemblage,” created as a collaborative project between the McNay’s four curators, showcases pieces from all around the museum. This exhibition “focuses on collages on paper, panel and canvas, as well as wall-hung and free-standing assemblage sculptures and hybrids of the collage and assemblage aesthetic.” With artists ranging from Pablo Picasso to San Antonio’s own Kelly O’Connor, this show places pieces from all across the museum’s expansive collection on display.
