Seniors Larsen Andrews and Cade Bradshaw spent an afternoon “fishing†in the Northrup acequia to raise awareness for an upcoming O-Rec excursion. O-rec members can frequently be seen doing things in the acequia, such as riding a canoe in it earlier this year.
This Halloween, Latino Exchange celebrated Dia de los Muertos, a traditional Mexican holiday celebrating the memories of deceased relatives popular in Hispanic culture all around the world. They did so by making an ofrenda in Coates, an altar commemorating the deceased which is traditionally decorated with paper cutouts, marigolds, calaveras (sugar skulls), and foods/possessions enjoyed by the deceased relative. The holiday is not a somber remembrance of one who has passed, but instead a celebration of the life and memory which that person enjoyed.

It is done by throwing a solid metal ball straight back over the head and measuring the distance to the spot it hits the ground.
