Monica Clifford, Junior
Interview by John Mendiola
Q: How would you describe your personal style?
A: Pretty eclectic. Very colorful. And obnoxious.
Q: What are your favorite stores?
A: Vintage Tex, a vintage clothing store I worked at this summer, and Mod Cloth, a website, if I buy something new. Mostly though, my clothes are hand me downs from my mom and sister, shirts that I made myself and stores like Goodwill, Boysville and Buffalo Exchange.
Q: What article of clothing do you most adore?
A: Dresses. Definitely dresses. I have over 40.
Q: What is your fashion inspiration?
A: I’ve defined my style as Jackie O meets Ugly Betty. I’d like to view myself as classy and I sometimes meet that. But I also like to be colorful.
Q: What was the best outfit you ever wore?
A: There’s this one dress that I have that has all these candy, popcorn, ice cream and stuff on it. It’s one of my favorite dresses in the world.
Q: What has been your worst fashion blunder?
A: There isn’t just one. I dress to feel good and if I don’t feel good with a dress than that’s a problem.
Q: Do you have a fashion philosophy?
A: Oh! Dress how you feel or want to feel! Because sometimes I can get sad and dressing up helps make me feel better.

Q: What was the best outfit you ever wore?
A: Probably one of my Express ties coupled with a good suit. That’s what I wear for parties, dinners, etc.
Q: What has been your worst fashion blunder?
A: Well, I did run around in a supermarket in a loincloth when I was four. I guess you could call that a fashion blunder.
