DYLAN BLUMBERG
Question: Where are you from?
Answer: I’m from Sydney, Australia.
Q: Where did you go to high school?
A: I went to Mariah College in Sydney.
Q: How long have you played soccer?
A: Since I was five and every year since then.
Q: What’s your position?
A: I play central defender.
Q: What club team did you play for?
A: I played for Hakoah City East, which is the representative team of New South Wales. I started there when I was 14 and went through until I left a couple weeks ago. I was playing the first grade which is the first team and had been playing in that team since 2012.
Q: How did you hear about Trinity?
A: Back in Australia on my soccer team there was a guy who played soccer in America and he came back and told me about it all. He knew people who worked for a recruiting agency, so he spoke to them for me and basically the recruiting agency got in contact with coach McGinlay.
Q: Why did you choose Trinity?
A: I knew that both academically and on the soccer field they’re really good…and on the soccer field I know they have had past successes and have a strong program, good coaching staff and good facilities.
Q: What are your goals for this season?
A: Individually, to get as many minutes as possible on the field as center back and help the team win as many games as possible, make sure we don’t concede goals and also develop as a player. As a team, win our conference and push on as far as we can in the national tournament.
Q: What is your major?
A: Business administration.
Q: What are your other hobbies?
A: I like traveling””I haven’t done that much but I’d like to do more””and going to the beach.
Q: What’s your favorite movie?
A: My favorite movie is “Shawshank Redemption.”
Q: What is your favorite food?
A: My favorite food is sushi.
KIRBY SMITH
Question: Where are you from?
Answer: I’m from Dallas, Texas.
Q: Where did you go to high school?
A: I went to Pilot Point High School.
Q: How long have you played volleyball?
A: This is my seventh year playing.
Q: What’s your position?
A: I’m an outside or right side.
Q: Did you play club (volleyball)?
A: I did. I played for 900 (volleyball club) my senior year.
Q: Why did you choose Trinity?
A: I chose Trinity because of the academic rep it had and the fact that the volleyball team was really successful the past few years.
Q: How has the experience been so far?
A: It’s been a lot of fun. It’s been challenging, but I’ve really loved every minute of it.
Q: What’s your favorite part about playing volleyball?
A: I just love being part of the team and just having the satisfaction of helping my team, and playing the game is so much fun.
Q: What are your goals for this season?
A: Individually I just want to get better and be a vital asset to my team, and as a team of course I want us to win nationals; that would be awesome.
Q: How is team chemistry?
A: It’s really good. We all get along really well and I didn’t expect it to go as well as it is going.
Q: What is your major?
A: My major is engineering.
Q: Do you have any hobbies or interest outside of volleyball?
A: My hobbies and interests are gymnastics, ballet and traveling.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: My favorite movie is “300: Rise of an Empire.”
