Trinity’s location provides students with many opportunities to explore cultural and historical sites, shop and enjoy San Antonio. However, not all students have vehicles on campus. The Hertz 24/7 rental car system provides an opportunity for personal transportation to students who want to leave campus.
The rental car system has been used in the past, and several improvements have been made this year to promote efficiency and reliability.
“There were a few issues last year,” said David Tuttle, associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students. “This year, a new vehicle has been added and more consistent oversight of the vehicles will be in place. Check in and out will be monitored more closely, and the system will be more reliable.”
Students can go online and register for the program.
“There is no fee to enroll, and once a student has enrolled, they can go online and reserve a vehicle for $10 an hour,” Tuttle said.
Trinity offers several other options for transportation off campus, including Tiger Taxi and the shopping shuttle. A possible bicycle-rental option is being considered through B-cycle as well.
Hertz rental vehicles are located on lower campus near Mabee dining hall in designated parking spaces.
