2014 SCAC All-Tournament Team

Three consecutive SCAC titles

What was your favorite moment as a Trinity athlete?

There are too many to pick just one!  When we went out and dominated Pomona-Pitzer 7-2 at their home courts in California my sophomore year.  They were not expecting us to win at all, after we lost to them 1-8 the year before. We beat Sewanee in the Conference tournament that same year (Spring 2012). The feeling after that win was incredible.  We had lost to Sewanee the year before 4-5, and they knocked us out of the Conference tournament, preventing us from qualifying for Regionals.  Another epic win was last year, my junior year, when we played against Washington & Lee at National Indoors at DePauw in Greencastle, Indiana.  Again, we were not expected to win, but we came out on fire and pulled out the win 5-4.  Celebrating conference this year by dunking our coach was pretty epic, too!  It was awesome to finish out our final home matches with dominating 5-0 conference wins.  We have such a great team dynamic this year, and I’m really proud of all of my teammates. We have formed strong bonds on and off the court, and I really couldn’t ask for a better support system.  We were on such an adrenaline high after winning conference this year.  It was a really special moment!

What other organizations were you a part of at Trinity?

Society of Women Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Gamma Chi Delta Sorority

Why did you choose to attend Trinity?

I chose to attend Trinity because it was a small school with warm weather, where I could play tennis, study engineering and join a sorority. Trinity had everything I was looking for.

How have the coaches helped you become the athlete you are today?

I have had four different coaches over my four years here at Trinity.  All four have impacted me in different ways, and each had his own coaching style.  Though some may see it as a setback, I think I was really fortunate to have this opportunity.  Each coach has helped shape a different aspect of my game, whether mental or technical.
