Walk up songs are short music selections that play as baseball and softball players walk up to the plate or take the mound.  There are also players thinking outside of the box, and those who come  up with the occasional funny curveball of a song. In anticipation of baseball’s home opener and the start of softball conference play, I  asked Trinity students what their walk up songs would be.

“My House” by Flo Rida
“I’d wanna do something funny and obnoxious. I think “˜My House’ by Flo Rida.”

“I have issues deciding what my walk up song would be because I feel like it’s really important. I couldn’t come up with anything else besides “˜Fire Burning’ by Sean Kingston because my last name is Schatte and that song says Shawty in it.

“Someone on the Phillies went up to “˜Let It Go,’ so that was pretty cool. I’d do that. I like messing with people.”

Trinity softball begins their regular season conference play this weekend with a series of four at Schreiner University. You can hear all their amazing walk up songs when the action comes back home on Mar. 11 and 12 with double headers against the University of Dallas on both Saturday and Sunday.
