Dit was one of Trinity’s senior citizens, born sometime around 2005 in a litter of all-black cats. It took her a while to warm up to people, but once she was comfortable, she’d love to get head scratches and time to sit in your lap. She was always around to greet the first-years as they were going home from their long days–laying in the walkway so no one could miss her. She truly loved her students and her brother, Trinity, and lived a long, comfortable life on campus. In her last year, she blossomed into a social butterfly, cozied up in her heated cat house for the winter, and became the queen of Beze Hall. She died early this summer of old age. She will be missed by all who cherished time with her.
Trinity appeared at Beze Hall around 2014. He loved students and missed them terribly during holidays or long absences. He loved to adopt a Beze room each year, hoping students would let him in to stay cool or warm in difficult weather. Sometimes students would even build “cat houses” for him on their balconies. He was the symbol of the first-year dorm area. You would see him when you were going to class, getting dinner at Mabee Dining Hall, or when you came home from a late night out he would be lying comfortably on the picnic tables ready for pets. Trinity welcomed his last first-year class this year. He died the morning of Aug. 23 of unforeseen circumstances. He lived a full and happy life as a campus cat. We will all miss him terribly, but he is now resting in peace, and we will cherish the memories of him every day.
