As the president of the Young Conservatives of Texas (YCT), I was asked to create a conservative guide for the primaries. I will not just give you a list of people to vote for; I encourage everyone to do their own research on candidates and their positions. Doing so will help ensure your vote reflects your values. I strongly urge voters to review each proposition carefully before arriving at the polls, rather than deciding in the voting booth.
As a board member of YCT who votes on endorsements, I recommend visiting yct.org/endorsements. Each of the endorsed candidates has been interviewed by us for their respective races, making it a valuable resource as you conduct your research. Any candidate on this list is conservative.
However, YCT has not endorsed a candidate in every race on the ballot. In two of those instances, I will share my personal views. I’m supporting Nate Sheets for Commissioner of Agriculture because I believe in the value of bringing fresh perspectives to the office. Additionally, in a tight decision, I am backing Attorney General Ken Paxton for Senate, as Senator John Cornyn has a questionable record, having previously supported gun control.
