“My favorite class that I’ve taken at Trinity is Sports Marketing and Sponsorship. It is with Professor Rick Hill. We just kind of go over what’s happening in the sports industry, and he brings amazing guest speakers to teach us about the different jobs and roles that you can do in the future when you graduate.”
Why’d you take the class?
“I took the class as an elective for my major. I’m a marketing major, but this class actually made me realize that I wanted to go into the sports field after graduation.”
Would you recommend the class to other students?
“I would definitely recommend the class to other students, even if they’re not interested in sports, because it’s just a great way to network and learn LinkedIn as well.”
Peyton White, sophomore biochemistry and molecular biology and business double-major
What’s your favorite class you’ve taken at Trinity?
“My favorite class is Management of Organizations with Rita Kosnick.”

“She always had hands-on activities and things to do so we could put what we were learning into a real life scenario, and she’s just really sweet and personable.”
Would you recommend the class to other students?
“It’s a good class to take. It’s pretty easy to stay on top of because she does well about going back over previous stuff and everything is pretty much connected. Everything is connected to a past topic. And all the activities help you put everything you’ve learned into what you’re doing.”
Gurkiran Kaur, junior economics major
What’s your favorite class you’ve taken at Trinity?
“I would say it’s the Natural Environment and the Well Being. I took it my fall semester, sophomore year.”
What made the class enjoyable?
“It gave me a different perspective on enjoying nature. I always thought that going outside and just sitting out there was always a waste of time, but the way that they were able to connect it to mental health and helping your mindset really allowed me now to enjoy nature and go outside and reap its benefits.”
How was the class structured?
“Every other week we would go on field trips around local parks in San Antonio, and then we took a really long one towards Austin. I think the park was called Palmetto State Park. And then for homework, we had to do these things called sit spots, where we found a designated spot in nature, and we would sit there for 30 minutes every single week, and we would observe the nature surrounding us and the changes, and stuff like that. It was really cool. And we also got to look at different research. Yeah, it was a fun time.”
Layla Amador, first-year marketing and communication double-major

“Moral Imagination and U.S. Incarceration.”
Why’d you take the class?
“Judith Norman.”
What made the class enjoyable?
“I think the way that she, and the other professors a part of it, created a space where you wanted to be open and wanted to learn. So your homework wasn’t always graded, but you wanted to do it. And I thought that was really cool.”
How was the class structured?
“So we’d go to a prison an hour outside of San Antonio. And we would all sit in a circle with our colleagues who are in prison. And we would learn about philosophy and read each other’s writing and read our poems out loud, which is not always the best, but it was good.”
Would you recommend the class to other students?
“I think it reminded me why I love to learn. And it was really cool to see the good this class is doing.”
