The Heartfield family shared the following statement with the Trinitonian:
“Aidan Thaddeus Heartfield
January 11th, 2003 – July 4th, 2025
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our son and little brother, Aidan Thaddeus Heartfield. Aidan died early the morning of July 4th, 2025, in Hunt, Texas — a place he loved dearly. He packed so much life, love, and adventure into his 22 years. Aidan valued his communities more than anything. Each one — including Trinity University — shaped him into the honest, goofy, and loving young man he was.

“Much against the advice of his parents, Aidan only applied to one college. He moved with certainty on big life decisions, and choosing Trinity was one of them. The day of his acceptance letter was the start of the best three years of his life. From the start, he built strong friendships with members of his campus community.
“As the baby brother of three older sisters, his pledge class from the Chi Delta Tau fraternity became a group of brothers he never had. He needed them to weather the challenges of young adult life, and he would brag about them constantly to his family. Trinity is just a quick drive away from Hunt, Texas, and Aidan spent many weekends there with his friends and fraternity brothers.
“What steadies his family in this time of such devastating loss is that Aidan was surrounded by nature, holding people he held dear.

“Aidan’s family is forever grateful for the hundreds of volunteers (including Trinity faculty, students, and alumni) and first responders who aided in the search, rescue, and recovery following the Guadalupe River Flood. The generosity, unwavering determination, and compassion of those called to help brought so much relief and comfort to families searching for loved ones. ‘Thank you’ doesn’t begin to cover it.

“A funeral service will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, July 26th, 2025 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Beaumont, Texas.
“Memorial contributions in Aidan’s name may be made to the International Esperanza Project, All Saints Episcopal School, or Trinity University. Another way to honor Aidan would be to give of your time and talent to a community or non-profit organization that is near and dear to your heart.”
