Luke Schaper (He/Him)
Why did you run?
Well, in my high school, I held a very similar position to this, and it was really fun, and I felt really connected with my student body. I just kind of wanted to be connected like that again, be able to help out with their concerns, some issues with campus.
What are your career goals? How does being a senator fit into those goals?
Honestly, I don’t know how it fits into those goals, but I just thought it’d be a really nice place to be. I’m sure everyone here is super nice, but I feel like it would help with public speaking, maybe doing better with making friends.
What relevant experience and/or leadership positions do you have?
My sophomore and junior year, I was a class representative … and then my senior year, I was vice president.
What are you passionate about as a SGA senator?
I’d say I’m pretty passionate about it. I think this is a really great job. It looks good on a resume. But that’s not the reason I’m joining anything, because I don’t feel like I need that. I just want to be a voice for my class. I think that’d be really great. Let them know who I am and let everyone know they want.

What are you passionate about as a SGA senator?
I think the library hours would be my first issue that I bring up because I think being able to study in the library should be a big factor, especially since all of us are in FYEs and so all of us have a lot of work and reading to do.
