President Vanessa Beasley and the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees have reappointed Megan Mustain, provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, for her second five-year term – set to begin on June 1. Beasley and Board of Trustees Chair Ted Beneski announced the decision in a March 23 email to Trinity faculty and staff, citing Mustain’s contributions to initiatives that strengthen the university’s academic mission and reputation.
Mustain strengthened Trinity’s academic quality with a new school and dean model, working with faculty to spearhead competitive salaries and enhance their onboarding experience while introducing clearer hiring priorities, the email stated. Beasley and Beneski credited Mustain for expanding faculty engagement with the Budget Advisory Committee, securing donations for the D. R. Semmes School of Science and the Carlos Alvarez School of Arts and Humanities, and for helping guide Trinity’s transition to the national liberal arts college category.
“Looking ahead, we remain committed to greater collaboration and cooperation with faculty to ensure Trinity University is well-positioned to respond to emerging needs and opportunities,” the email reads. “Together, we will advance enduring excellence in teaching, scholarship and student success.”
