University sends students housing survey, a tentative course list
Students received an email on Monday, Sept. 21, with the link to a non-binding spring 2021 housing interest survey to be completed by 5 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 28. On Wednesday, Sept. 23, students were then sent an email outlining the tentative spring 2021 course schedule and modes of instruction.
Housing survey responses are being used to determine whether or not Residential Life needs to make adjustments to the spring 2021 housing arrangements. Results will be weighed against the university’s available space and public health conditions to determine the best approach.
“The biggest impact is probably that there are some students who had to sign leases that extend beyond the fall semester,” wrote Tess-Coody Anders, vice president for Strategic Communications and Marketing, in an email interview. “Even if they want to move back onto campus in the spring, they may not be able to do so.”
Students will still have the choice of whether or not they will live on- or off-campus, including living outside of San Antonio.
According to an email sent by Michael Soto, associate vice president for Academic Affairs and professor of English, 70% of the 684 courses Academic Affairs has data for are TigerFlex, and 30% are online-only. Faculty may change their mode of instruction depending on local and national COVID-19 trends.
The official spring 2021 course schedule will be available on TigerPAWS on Oct. 15.
Trinity offering flu vaccine at Laurie Auditorium
Trinity has partnered with H-E-B Pharmacy to host a flu vaccination event on Oct. 1-2 at Laurie Auditorium. Students, faculty, and staff who are already cleared to come to campus may go to the on-site clinic to receive a flu shot.
This event comes along with the ProtecTU push to protect Trinity community members and the healthcare system, which are already facing challenges due to COVID-19.
The clinic at Laurie was open on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be open on Friday, Oct. 2, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Outside of this week’s event, students are able to get a flu vaccination at any time from Health Services.
