Sunday
The four seniors, pitcher and outfielder Jordan Arce, first baseman Carsyn Lee, outfielder Hayden Del Toro and shortstop Angela Baltzell, took the field with flowers, and their own framed jerseys to celebrate their coming to an end on the team. The game on Sunday was the closest of the series, but Millsaps couldn’t get ahead of the Tigers 5 runs.
The game started off with an inside the park home run from the majors, but Arce kept them to only one run. The Tigers scored 3 runs off of a series of errors from the Majors, and took the lead 3-1. Lee sent a triple flying to the outfield, and scored the next play off Samantha Tagawa’s ground out. The Tigers final run was scored by junior outfielder Ella Whitacre in the second inning off of another hit from Lee. Millsaps tried to come back in the third with 2 runs, but the score remained 5-3 for the rest of the game.
