When going to Lux Salon to get a haircut, I appreciated the stylish decor — the colorful paintings on the walls and the checkerboard ceiling were appealing from a design perspective. In addition, the music was also a highlight (Ha! Hair pun!) of my experience. Vintage Frank Sinatra tunes from the Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox station on Pandora segued into contemporary indie songs from Passion Pit and Grizzly Bear. Overall, the environment was very contemporary and trendy!
My stylist, Alejandro, was very helpful. When I showed him pictures of the haircut that I wanted, which was much shorter than how my hair previously was, he did a great job of making my hair look how I wanted, and gave me tips of how to maintain my new hairstyle. The haircut prices are expensive but worth it in my opinion — I spent $42 for my haircut, but also gave a tip based on the great service. In addition to haircuts, Lux also offers coloring and styling services. I would definitely recommend Lux for any Trinity student who wants to get a good haircut or to dye their hair at a reasonably-priced establishment close by.
