Paul Anderson, first-year biochemistry and molecular biology major

What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen a Trinicat do?

“Sweetpea clawed me one time … I was like, ‘Now I’m scared to pet any of the cats.’”

Do you think the cats know they are campus celebrities?

“I think they definitely know they are campus celebrities, and I think some of them really love the attention!”

Clarissa Banda, first-year biology major

What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen a Trinicat do?

“I’ve seen a cat wait patiently by a residence hall door until someone ‘accidentally’ lets them in. People chased the cat down, but it was a cold night, so people were only half-heartedly chasing it and were more focused on recording it, fascinated by its choices.”

Do you think the cats know they are campus celebrities?

“Yes, you can tell they have a slight superiority complex, but most cats do. I still find them cute and an important part of Trinity’s campus.”

What do the cats add to campus culture?

“I think they help boost student morale. I often see people taking pictures with them or petting them after a long day.”

Samantha Lyons, first-year environmental studies major

What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen a Trinicat do?

“The cutest thing I’ve seen one of the campus cats do is sit in someone’s lap. I’ve gotten Fiona to sit in my lap twice. She can be cranky, but loves being near people if you give her space.”

Do you think the cats know they are campus celebrities?

“I think some of them definitely know. The cats are usually more open to being pet in the mornings, before they’ve been overwhelmed with attention.”

What do the cats add to campus culture?

“I think the cats definitely make the campus feel friendlier. Getting to see them in between classes is always a highlight of my day.”

Susan Strange, first-year undecided major

What’s the funniest thing you’ve seen a Trinicat do?

“My funniest moment was when I was trying to find the vulture. We were trying to feed the vulture and lure it in. And while we were doing this, Colby Jack discovered this and decided he was gonna fight the vulture, so most of the time we spent was spent on stopping him from fighting the vulture.”
