Lily Roberson, first-year biology major
How do you feel about Mabee Dining Hall?
“It’s mediocre. Sometimes I go in, and there’s food that I love, like the beef stroganoff, and I really like the shells they had the other day. But most of the time I feel like they don’t have great food. I feel like that’s not the worst issue though. If the worst thing we’re complaining about is the dining hall, the school’s probably really good.”
What is the worst course you can take?
“If I had to guess from what I’ve heard, O-Chem. From personal experience, Gen Chem I, but it isn’t that bad so far, one semester in. It’s something that I need to take for my major, but I’m not too excited to be taking it. Though the professors are good and they’re good resources, so I feel like it’s not the worst.”
What is your biggest hot take?
“STEM majors aren’t more important than any other major out there. I don’t feel like anyone’s willing to say that they’re more important, but people definitely act like they’re more important.”

Samuel Cornett, sophomore English major
How do you feel about Mabee Dining Hall?
“It can vary. It’s not always good food, but most of the time it’s solid. I feel like it’s gotten a little bit better than last year. In general it’s pretty good. I feel like vegetables could be cooked a little bit more.”
What is the worst course you can take?
“I’ve liked all the courses I’ve taken. Maybe a course where the professor adds on to the syllabus. Like, where the syllabus says one thing, but the professor changes it to have an extra exam [or] where the professor changes things without student input.”
What is your biggest hot take?
“I’m kinda hesitant on it, but should Trinity have Greek life? I mean it’s kinda small, and I feel like the format that it’s in, people can make friends in the fall and then get to know them, and then suddenly they’re in a frat and you never see them. Maybe sometimes I think it could be better if Trinity didn’t have Greek life. I also do like the frats and the parties, so it’s something I keep in mind.”

Emily Orr, sophomore English and communication double-major
How do you feel about Mabee Dining Hall?
“I think it’s gotten a lot better this year. There are a lot more options for people, and if you don’t like anything, you can order the chicken or the burger, and I think that’s a lot better than last year.”
What is the worst course you can take?
“Anything you have to present in: COMM 1301.”
What is your biggest hot take?
“Water is not wet. It makes things wet.”

Jonathan Diaz, senior accounting major
How do you feel about Mabee Dining Hall?
“I like it. I’ve never really had an issue with it. I come from a working class family, so I don’t expect too much. If something’s not good that day, it’ll always make up for it. Food is food.”
What is the worst course you can take?
“I think, at least for me, there was an elective I didn’t like: the New Testament. The professor made it so you had to go with her interpretation. I sat next to someone who was very involved in the Bible, and every time he would come up with something, the professor would have a way to, not to invalidate it, but to counter it. It just felt a little weird.”
What is your biggest hot take?
“I like Mabee. I think people just hate on it. Those people are probably already overworked from having to feed so many college students, so obviously some slip-ups might happen, but there’s always the burger station. I’ve never had a bad burger day there, or a bad chicken sandwich day there.”
