What careers are you interested in?
“Personally, I want to go into public health epidemiology, so I’m here to talk with the city of San Antonio for internship opportunities.”
What are you hoping to gain from the career fair?
“I would love to make connections with the city of San Antonio and other local governments, just because those are normally in the public health sector — but mainly to gain connections with employers.”
Gio Limon, first-year finance major
What careers are you interested in?
“I am interested in wealth management.”
What are you hoping to gain from the career fair?
“Well, being a freshman, I’m interested in advice, because no one’s looking for freshmen.”
Avery Parvin, first-year finance major
What careers are you interested in?
“I’m interested in financial advising, being a consultant or going the corporate finance route.”
What are you hoping to gain from the career fair?
“I’m just hoping to gain some connections and talk to people about what jobs are out there to figure out my path a little bit more.”
Noah Flanagan, sophomore political science major
What careers are you interested in?
“Really anything political is what I’m interested in. Today walking out, if I’m allowed to air my opinion, it feels like it’s very oriented to business majors and finance majors. I guess those are the career fields that are really interesting and popular among our student body. Still, it’s a bit disappointing to walk in there and not feel like there’s anything geared towards other majors.”
What are you hoping to gain from the career fair?
“I kind of just came here for a class, if I’m being completely honest, but I think that if the selection were better for my specific interests, and for students of a like-minded interest, it’s really beneficial to network. I think that’s probably what you gain the most out of it: putting names to faces and also getting your resume to certain corporations, companies, et cetera.”
Madeleine Toland, sophomore engineering science major
What careers are you interested in?
“I’m really hoping to go into research-focused careers, specifically in the energy sector, so making renewable energy more cost-effective and more efficient.”
What are you hoping to gain from the career fair?
“Ideas of what companies I could go work for, what they’re doing, what internship opportunities are out there, when I should start applying and what classes I should be taking to fit myself into what they want to be looking for.”
